Brownsville Business Spotlight Series by Amor Bello Photography

Recently, I had the privilege of photographing a beautiful extended family session in a truly special location—Casa Tijerina, the family’s newly restored historical home in downtown Brownsville. With its timeless charm and rich history, this home provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable morning of connection and storytelling for the Tijerina family.

Before the session, I had the opportunity to tour the home and learn about its fascinating history. What stood out most were the old photos displayed throughout the house. Each photo showcased its transformation over the years. It was inspiring to see how their home not only preserved the past, but will also create new memories as a new rental space for events and and photography sessions.

Session Details

Working with the Tijerina family was a joy. We captured a variety of portraits, including the entire family together, the kids only, individual families, and all the grandkids with their grandparents too. A highlight of the session was recreating a cherished family photo from years ago featuring the home’s original owners. This emotional moment beautifully blended the past and present into one timeless image.

This session reminded me why I love what I do—capturing moments that bridge generations in spaces as meaningful as the families themselves. I’m excited to share some of the photos from this gallery and hope they bring as much joy to you as they did to me.
